I was originally planning to write a post over a month ago about how bankers appear to be acting increasingly like addicts but when I actually tried to put it all together, it all turned out to be mostly conjecture and the case I was trying to put together wasn’t so utterly foolproof as I was hoping it would be.
Instead, here’s an interview from The Daily Show featuring Bethany McLean & Joe Nocera from last week, in which Jon Stewart says exactly what I wanted to say last month – but funnier and with people present who actually know what they’re talking about.
Cheers, Chris.
PS The embedded code doesn’t appear to be working properly and I’m not a programmer so I don’t know how to fix it. However, that link will take you to the promised video. If anyone knows what might be wrong with the code, please let me know.

Hi Chris — I think if you close the tag at the start of the embedded bit, that will make it look a bit prettier at least.

Hey Toby. Thanks for the leg-up. I ended up doing a little more than just adding that > but it was enough to get me to look more closely at the code. The video still doesn’t embed but at least it’s more presentable.

Hi Chris,
The link just says “Sorry, Videos are not currently available in your country” when I try it from the UK. This is strange as I remember videos being available over here in the 80s. I know they’re old technology but I’m sure they’re available somewhere!
Just thought I’d let you know.

Thanks Adam. That is a problem. I know that the rights to show full episodes of The Daily Show in the UK lie with Channel 4 but I seem to remember that the last time I checked, individual videos were available from The Daily Show’s homepage since Channel 4 didn’t show them on 4OD. I’ll have to see if I can find a YouTube link for you.
Update: It looks like all the YouTube videos of the interview have been deleted. Sorry about that.
